Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Navibite collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Navibite mobile application and related services. By using Navibite, you agree to the practices described here.
Navibite is designed to be lightweight and privacy-respecting, with a focus on collecting only what we need to help you discover great food nearby.

1. Who We Are
Navibite is operated by NAVIBITE COMPANY LIMITED, a company registered in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (the “we”, “us”, or “our” in this Policy). We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. Contact details are at the end of this Policy.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
•    Account information: your name or display name, email address and/or phone number, and a password or the identifier from a social login (Google or Facebook).
•    Profile & preferences: optional profile photo, food preferences, saved places, and lists you create.
•    User content: reviews, ratings, photos, and comments you submit.
•    Communications: messages you send to our support team.

2.2 Location data
With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location data from your device so we can show food spots near you, sort results by distance, and improve local recommendations. You control location access through your device settings and can turn it off at any time; if you do, distance-based features may be limited. We do not continuously track your location in the background unless you enable a feature that clearly requires it.

2.3 Information collected automatically
•    Analytics & usage data: how you interact with the app — screens viewed, features used, searches, and taps — to understand what is useful and improve the experience.
•    Crash logs & diagnostics: technical information when the app crashes or errors, such as device model, operating-system version, app version, and the state at the time of the error.
•    Device & connection data: a device or installation identifier, language setting, and general network information used to optimise for slow or intermittent connections.

3. How We Use Your Information
•    To provide and operate the Service — create and manage your account, show nearby listings, and save your preferences;
•    To personalise recommendations and improve discovery results;
•    To develop, test, and improve the app, including analytics on how features perform;
•    To diagnose and fix crashes, bugs, and performance problems, especially under low-bandwidth conditions;
•    To communicate with you about updates, security notices, and support requests;
•    To keep the Service safe — detecting fraud, abuse, fake reviews, and violations of our Terms;
•    To comply with legal obligations under applicable Myanmar law.

4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data where it is necessary to provide the Service you request, where you have given consent (for example, for location access or optional analytics where required), where we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving Navibite, and where we must comply with a legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described here:
•    Service providers: trusted third parties who host our servers, provide analytics, crash reporting, and authentication (social login) on our behalf, under obligations of confidentiality and only for the purposes we specify.
•    Other users: content you choose to make public — such as reviews, ratings, and your display name — is visible to other users.
•    Legal & safety: where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Navibite, our users, or the public.
•    Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this Policy.

6. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside Myanmar. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected by appropriate safeguards consistent with this Policy.

7. Data Retention
We keep your personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data in line with our Account Deletion Policy, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal, security, or fraud-prevention requirements.

8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure authentication — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any security issues we identify.

9. Your Rights & Choices
•    Access and update your account information within the app;
•    Control location, notification, and permission settings through your device;
•    Request a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct or delete it;
•    Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
•    Delete your account at any time — see our Account Deletion Policy.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at navibite@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable Myanmar law.

10. Children's Privacy
Navibite is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Legal Framework
Myanmar does not currently have a single comprehensive data-protection statute. We handle personal data with regard to the relevant provisions of Myanmar law, including the Law Protecting the Privacy and Security of Citizens (2017, as amended), the Electronic Transactions Law (2004, as amended, including its provisions on the protection of personal data), and other applicable laws. We monitor legal developments, including the Cybersecurity Law (2025), and update our practices as needed.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means. The “Effective date” at the top shows when this version took effect.
